Sloane sweatshirt

Uff... Quanta polvere quiggiù! Quanti mesi sono passati dall'ultimo post? Mmmmm... Troppi. Pensavate che avessi abbandonato il blog? No, non potrei mai! Può capitare, no?
Uff ... How much silence here! How many months since the last post? Mmmmm... Too many. Did you think I abandoned the blog? No, I couldn't! I love it so much. Unfortunately it happens to neglect the things (but also people) that I cares. What happened? Simply with the arrival of autumn my desire to sew clothes was asleep and I preferred to sew only some bags. It can happen, right? But meeting people who have your same passion is the best thing there is in the world. A tear dropped in the wrong moment can make you know people who are able to transmit a force to leave you speechless and give you the encouragement you needed. I'm coming back to sew and in fact at this moment I have a list of projects sooooooo long. And why not go back to writing here just before the end of the year? I hope it will be auspicious for 2016!

McCall's 5400 bikini - my summer challenge

16 August 2015
I've made it! I sewed a swimsuit! And I finished it before the end of summer!
I was really happy to wear it last week when I went to the swimming pool with my family. The other swimmers ignored my happiness, but I was really satisfied.

Hot pink top, totally unexpected!

27 July 2015
Hey, I blogged! Too much silence here... Where was I? Here in Italy, the weather is really hot, so I was before the fan or with the feet on the water in order to survive to this heat wave. I must confess that I can't sew with these temperatures and humidity, so I decided to share with you something I've made during in early June, when the weather wasn't so hot.

Black Kimono tee

I was writing a post to share with you one of my latest creations (and I'm very happy about it), but it suddenly was "seasonally inappropriate" because it's really hot out there, so I'll show it to you when it will be colder.
What do you think if now I share with you something perfect for summer, such as a t-shirt? I know, another garment so easy to make, but I tried to embellish it with a touch of lace.

Bag #2: shoulder bag

01 June 2015
Blu e bianca, ovviamente!
Blue is slowly becoming part of my closet and I was really impressed because usually I prefer black. And extraordinarily I bought a pair of white and blue shoes. And this is not the perfect excuse to make a new bag? White and blue, of course!

Refashion and memories

24 May 2015
Siiiii - it's time to refashion!
We all have some clothes from which we can't separate and we still keep them in the closet, hoping to wear them again. But sometimes the change of clothes in middle seasons imposes a choice: keep, throw away, donate or... transform? Yeeeessss- it's time to refashion!
There are tons of refashion tutorial on the web but this post is not one of those. These refashion are not particularly original, but I didn't want to give these clothes away. Especially because they are not RTW clothes, bought in some stores, but my mom sewed them both.

Lottie blouse

07 May 2015
I love bow blouses. Now they are everywhere: it's easy to find them in stores and there are different patterns proposed by indie designers . But when my love for bow shirts began, it was hard to find them in shops and I didn't know sewing. It was just then that I realized it was time to learn to sew and make it by myself. Then I stopped working in office, so bow shirts passed into background. But when I found the pattern of this blouse, I didn't hesitate a moment and I immediately put it into my to-do list.
We always want to save money, but maybe this time I exaggerated.

Crazy for pineapples

19 April 2015
Isn't this blouse new to you? True, I wore it for the first Italian sewing meet up. I know it was a month ago, I apologize!
It seems everyone go mad for pineapples and I'm part of the crowd. But #pineapplesaresohotrightnow! And I couldn't resist!

This material girl is so lucky!

24 March 2015
First, a little premise. I had just finished sewing a pattern from the French designer Aime comme Marie and I had two of her fabrics ready to be cut, when I discovered that she was accused by some bloggers to have copied some patterns and also the drawings on some of her fabrics.
I don't want to deal with this topic here, but if you want to know more I suggest you read the post by Silvia of Sewing Princess, really interesting, also for a broader  and general debate.
This story left me puzzled, with bitter taste and undecided if I have to publish the clothes I made with her pattern and her fabrics. I thought about it a lot, and even if I may seem incoherent to you, I decided to publish them here. I thought a lot and I made my decision - for the moment I don't want to buy some more from her, even though I will continue to use the patterns I have already - and I would leave to the reader the freedom to know, evaluate and make a decision about.

Ma ora torniamo alla mia realizzazione!
But now let's go back to my shirt
Do you want to know why this shirt is so lucky? Because I didn't buy this pattern, but rather I won it! After Abilmente fair in last October, Nicoletta launched a giveaway on her blog DiNuvoleDiCuori. Of course I participated (who can resist to a giveaway?) and... surprise! I was the lucky winner! The award was the pattern Aime comme Material girl by Aime comme Marie.

Blog hop tour

(English version at the end)

Ugualmente contagioso, no? ;)

Bag #1: fold over clutch

09 March 2015
A simple clutch : it was one of the first pin when I started using Pinterest and I didn't know to sew.

Shimmering heart for a little girl

26 February 2015
Would you believe that I sewed the first shirt for my daughter? I'm a little bit surprised. Since I started to sew, I thought only and exclusively to make clothes for me, Christmas gifts apart. But while I was reading again one of the few magazines Burda in my library, looking for a shirt for me (of course!), I found this pattern for little girl, so cute that I couldn't resist. And immediately I started to trace the pattern!
It is a long shirt that looks like a mini dress (they call it "tunic") with long sleeves and gathered at waist.

J'aime la mini! #2

17 February 2015
Eccola!
A quick post... I told you that I was sewing another mini skirt, right? Here it is!

Only a cardigan...

I really like to sew dresses and skirts, but I have to be onest: I'm a full-time mom and opportunities to wear them aren't so many. Generally during the winter I prefer to wear jeans and sweaters because they are perfect for running and playing with a 2 years old.
So I decided that, after my Christmas dress, I would realize something I could wear every day. And when I saw that one of the patterns in the first issue of Seamwork was just a cardigan, named Oslo, I took the decision to make it.

J'aime la mini! #1

I casually met the pattern of this skirt, but I love it when I wore it for the first time. Now I could never stay without it!
