Mug rugs for Christmas

Did you spend a Merry Christmas? I hope so! I spent Christmas with my family at my parents' house unwraping gifts and eating so many good things.
Finally gifts were all handed, so now I can show you the ones I sewed for aunts and friends: simple mug rug in patchwork style.

My winter Camí

After a month spent between the influence (which infected my daughter, then me and finally my mom!) and the making of Christmas gifts, this year strictly handmade, here I am again with a new dress, finished just to be worn during the Christmas time.
I must confess that if my mother didn't come to see me (she helped me to understand how to solve some problems), this dress would remain on a chair waiting to be finished who knows when... The problem wasn't the pattern, which I love so much, but the choice of fabrics, that was definitely the worst I've done before.

I love polka dots!

Oh, quanto adoro i pois! Incominciamo dall'inizio.
Oh, I love polka dots so much! Last summer I dreamt to have a polka dot dress in my wardrobe, preferably in 50's style. I wanted to wear it during my holidays in september, so I started at the beginning of August, but ... There's always a "but" when you sew! The dress was still incomplete, when I went on holiday and I was very disappointed. What happened? Let's start from the beginning.

Wow!
When I started reading sewing blogs, I discovered a world that was completely unknown to me, the world of independent designers' patterns. A discovery that left me in awe of the amount of templates available! Amazing!
Four of these designers were recently at the last edition of Abilmente, a fair in Vicenza. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet them in person, and of course I did some shopping, including the pattern of Deer and Doe's Bruyère shirt .

How many times do you see a dress and do you think immediately that it would be great with your favorites shoes? It happened to me with this skirt.

The first post is the hardest? Probably yes. I am worried but at the same time excited. I fell the same emotions with the first dress I sew.
